Yupper...They did it!

Perfectly good weather for running in the River Bank Run. The senior member of the team put out a great time in his first 5k ever. One of four 64 year old men and nine 64 year old women to run the 5k, out of almost 5000 runners, he did it under 30 minutes, placing him 22nd in the group of 59 men from 60-64.

Congrats to all the guys for a race well done. Mike S met his 'under 2 hours' goal. Eric came in at 2h, 03 minutes. Mike K, inspite of fighting shin splints, came in just over 2h, 18 minutes. Whew! And I got up at 4:30 a.m.

  1. Wish I could have been there to see Dad. For some reason that photo makes him much older than he really does! And Mike said he couldn't really even feel his shin splits, it's his hips, I guess.

  2. I know running is supposed to be good for your health, but he sure seems to look like he's ready for an ambulance when he does it, even if he doesn't feel bad! I know he would have liked it if you could make it. Who knows about next year? You'll probably be running, yourself :)

Sorry I got that mixed up regarding the grimace on Mike's face. I knew he got off the training track with the shin splints, so I jumped to them as the immediate pressure point today. Didn't listen good enough.

  4. Way to go Don! A few more 5ks and 10ks and you will be doing a Half yourself soon.
