Freedom Board Family Fun on the Farm

Our recent hayride and bonfire for Freedom board members and their families couldn't have been held on a better day. Although a noon deluge left our favorite farmer drenched when he drove a load of big round bales home from Hudsonville (we won't talk about the wallet that ended up in the wash and the credit cards that got lost in the dryer!!!) the sun shone gloriously in time for the hot dog roast.

No one can do a hayride like we do. And, NO ONE enjoyed the hayride more than Hannah L! What a good time! And, in the end, while the old people chatted and sipped that lousy decaf coffee, the young guys solved the world's problems.

  1. How do you lose credit cards in the dryer?

  2. Hmmm. Starts with drenching rain. Getting as wet as if he'd walked into Lake MI fully clothed. Putting everything in the washer, which the Good Woman quickly washed and dried before the party. Next a.m., before church, unable to find the wallet that was surely left on the freezer, the Good Woman opened the dryer, and, sure enough, found assorted debris from the wallet, less two credit cards that actually slipped out of the drum. They were retrieved on Monday a.m. by removing the back of the dryer. Hence my lesson in library about being careful with your books, because you never can tell what will happen...
